A house fire on the East Hill of Kent displaced a family of four at about 4 a.m. Sunday in the 21200 block of 104th Avenue Southeast.
The family noticed a smoke odor and found heavy smoke in the living room. They immediately left the house and called 911, according to a Kent Fire Department media release.
No one was injured in the fire.
Kent and Renton firefighters quickly extinguished the fire.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The home was being remodeled. There were smoke alarms in the home, but it is unknown if the alarms were working when the fire broke out.
The family will stay with local relatives.
