The far right lane of southbound Interstate 5 in Kent will be closed 24/7 from Sunday, July 21 through approximately Monday, Aug. 5 to install drainage along the freeway to accommodate Sound Transit light rail facilities.
The two-week closure will be between South 259th Street to the start of the South 272nd Street off-ramps, according to Sound Transit. The closure will begin at 10 p.m. July 21.
Drivers are asked to drive carefully through the construction zone and to anticipate increased travel times.
Crews will work to maintain a safe and secure work site.
