Farrington Court recently received a prestigious national honor.
The Kent retirement community and assisted living facility was selected as a 2015 Best Of Assisted Living Award Winner as rated by families through senioradvisor.com (www.senioradvisor.com).
“It’s just an honor that our residents and our families love us this much,” said Marcia Byrd, executive director at Farrington Court-Stellar Living, at an awards ceremony at the center last Friday .
Mayor Suzette Cooke was on hand to praise the retirement community.
“You rock,” Cooke shouted at the audience. “I couldn’t be more proud to be mayor of a city that has residents like you who stay engaged with their community and with each other.”
For Farrington Court, it is the first time it has received the honor. The community, which serves 125 residents, recently was remodeled, a phase-one move that features new carpet, chairs and dining tables and paint.
