An early Tuesday morning fire damaged the Cave Man Kitchen restaurant, 807 W. Valley Highway.
Firefighters from the Kent Fire Department Regional Fire Authority and Renton were dispatched at about 4:30 a.m. to the restaurant, according to a Kent Fire Department media release.
The first crews saw flames going through the roof, so several more units were called to respond to the fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire at about 5:30 a.m.
Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fire, where the fire started and a damage estimate.
No employees were in the building. There were no injuries.
The damage is minimal, according to a posting on the restaurant’s Facebook page.
“(Owner) Roseanna (Donley) is already in gear and having another smoker put in place,” according to the posting. “Thankfully we have a back-up that is ready to go. The Cave is closed today (Tuesday) and will be re-opened as soon as possible.”
