Firefighters extinguish fire at Kent vacant house for 3rd time in 6 months

Fire broke out Monday night, Aug. 12 in 100 block of Naden Avenue South

Firefighters extinguished a fire Monday night, Aug. 12 at a vacant house in the 100 block of Naden Avenue South near West Meeker Street in Kent.

“There has been two other fires at this house in the past six months,” said Puget Sound Fire spokesperson Pat Pawlak in an Aug. 13 email.

Firefighters were dispatched at about 9:24 p.m. to the fire, just east of State Route 167. It took about an hour to put it out, Pawlak said. Fifteen fire department personnel responded.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, Pawlak said.

There has been known homeless people activity at this house in the past, Pawlak said.
