Firefighters rescued a Kent man after his mobile home caught fire Friday morning near 154th Avenue Southeast and Southeast 272nd Street.
The first crews went immediately into the home, found the man and brought him outside for medical treatment, according to a Puget Sound Fire media release. CPR was performed and a heartbeat was regained. King County Medic One transported the man to a local hospital.
Neighbors first reported the fire at 7:34 a.m., and tried unsuccessfully to determine if anyone was home. When firefighters from Puget Sound Fire and Fire District 44 arrived, they were informed that the resident was possibly inside.
The fire caused extensive heat and smoke damage throughout the double-wide mobile home. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
