Consumer firework sales across the state, including 22 stands in Kent, will begin at noon on Sunday, June 28 and continue until 9 p.m. on July 5.
State Fire Marshal Charles M. Duffy reminds residents to “know the laws before purchasing and discharging fireworks,” and “only purchase legal fireworks.”
This year 1,002 retail fireworks stand licenses were issued. The city of Kent only allows fireworks to be discharged from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on July 4.
Statewide sales are allowed from noon to 11 p.m. on June 28; 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on June 29-July 4; and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on July 5.
