About 1 to 3 inches of snow is predicted by Tuesday night in Kent with as much as 3 to 7 inches falling during the day Wednesday and another inch Wednesday night, according to the National Weather Service.
The service updated its forecast at about 3 p.m. Tuesday. Forecasters predicted 5 to 9 inches of snow during the day Wednesday in an earlier prediction.
Warmer weather and rain is expected Thursday with temperatures hitting as high as 44 on Friday.

Tuesday night: Rain and snow showers likely before 10 p.m., then snow. The snow could be heavy at times. Low around 28. North northwest wind around 8 mph becoming east northeast. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
Wednesday: Snow before 10 a.m., then rain, snow, and freezing rain. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 32. North northeast wind around 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. Little or no ice accumulation expected. New snow accumulation of 3 to 7 inches possible.
Wednesday Night: Rain, snow, and freezing rain before 10 p.m., then rain and snow. Low around 29. North wind between 7 and 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.
Thursday: Rain and snow, becoming all rain after 10 a.m.. Snow level rising to 900 feet. High near 36. North wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Thursday Night: Rain likely. Cloudy, with a low around 35. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.
Friday: Rain. High near 47. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent.
Friday Night: Rain. Cloudy, with a low around 39.
