The Kent Predators Indoor Football League team has signed two former NFL wide receivers to its roster.
Aaron Straiten and Maurice Bryant will be joining the Predators for the team’s second season. The team is based out of the Kent ShoWare Center.
Aaron Straiten became the leading wide receiver for the La Crosse Spartans (of the Indoor Football League (IFL) in just seven games during the 2010 season. He played college ball at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he was an All League performer, and he played wide receiver with the San Francisco 49ers in all four pre-season games during the 2008 season. “Aaron is very hungry to get back to the NFL. At 24 years old, this is the type of talent we want here in the Puget Sound area,” said head coach Keith Evans.
Evans said he was pleased to have picked up veteran player Maurice Bryant. Bryant played for Houston University and was an All League wide receiver before being drafted by the Tennessee Titans, where he spent two seasons. He then went to Arena Football League where he was an offensive specialist – but also played defense due to league rules. Bryant most recently led the Wenatchee Venom, of the IFL, in touchdown receptions, with 20 touchdowns in the 2010 season. Maurice Bryant is also an actor with spots in feature films The Longest Yard (2005 remake)and We Are Marshall.
