Drivers will want to avoid northbound Highway 167 on Tuesday morning, July 31, in the Auburn/Kent area as crews will close lanes for at least an hour for a police procession honoring Kent Police Officer Diego Moreno.
The lanes will be shut down between 15th Street Northwest and Willis Street (State Route 516) starting at 10:50 a.m. and lasting for at least an hour, according to the State Patrol. The procession begins at Emerald Downs in Auburn and ends at the accesso ShoWare Center in Kent for a 1 p.m. service for Moreno, who died in the line of duty on July 22 when he was inadvertently struck by another officer’s vehicle.
