The Washington State Patrol took a motorcyclist into custody for suspicion of DUI and are looking for a hit-and-run driver after a three-vehicle injury collision in Kent along State Route 516.
The motorcyclist, a 36-year-old Renton man, was traveling westbound on SR 516 (aka Kent Des Moines Road), just west of Military Road South, at about 10:40 p.m. Monday, May 2, according to the State Patrol.
The man laid the motorcycle down and was ejected from the vehicle, according to the State Patrol. He came to rest on his feet in lane one while the motorcycle came to rest in lane two.
A second vehicle, driven by unknown driver, struck the motorcyclist in lane one. A third vehicle, driven by a 45-year-old Kent man, observed the collision and came to a halt in front of the second vehicle and began to record the incident. The driver of the second vehicle then fled the scene and hit the third vehicle while driving away, according to the State Patrol.
Troopers found the second vehicle abandoned at a nearby apartment complex.
Troopers took the motorcyclist into custody for suspicion of DUI and released him to Valley Medical Center in Renton for treatment. The driver of the second vehicle has not been located.
