Local elected officials and transportation agency representatives from the Interstate 405 and State Route 167 corridor will meet again Monday, July 18 to discuss future corridor transportation priorities.
At this public meeting of the I-405/SR 167 Executive Advisory Group, members plan to continue discussions about next steps for the I-405 Master Plan. This multimodal, multi-agency strategy, adopted in 2002, is designed to manage congestion, improve reliability, and add capacity throughout the corridor.
Representatives from the Washington State Department of Transportation will report on the status of corridor projects funded by last year’s Connecting Washington transportation package, including the I-405/SR 167 Interchange Direct Connector project and proposed improvements for the far north end of I-405. They will also present recent performance trends for the express toll lanes between Bellevue and Lynnwood.
In addition, representatives from Sound Transit and King County will deliver presentations about several topics of interest to I-405 corridor stakeholders, including the recently adopted Sound Transit 3 proposal, progress on the Eastside Rail Corridor Regional Trail, and transit performance in the corridor.
“As WSDOT and our partners move forward with implementing the I-405 Master Plan, we want to ensure we continue to engage with our many stakeholders,” said Acting Transportation Secretary and EAG chairman Roger Millar. “The Executive Advisory Group meetings are an important opportunity for coordination across agencies.”
The meeting is scheduled for 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Monday, July 18, at Bellevue City Hall, Room 1E-108, 450 110th Ave. NE, Bellevue. Members of the public are welcome to attend and provide brief comments. Minutes and materials from the meeting will be posted to the WSDOT Eastside Corridor website.
