The Islamic Center of Kent has submitted a proposal for a new religious services building to replace its current building on the East Hill.
In addition to the daily prayers and weekly congregations, the building will be a community center for events, classes, committee meetings and youth activities. The ICK plans to provide new parking and landscaping to the grounds.
Public commentary on the proposal opened on Aug. 30, and will remain open until 4:30 p.m. Friday. The city requests public comments be in writing and delivered to City Planning Services, 220 Fourth Ave. S.
The Islamic Center of Kent is at 20857 108th Ave., across the street and down a driveway from Safeway.
