A Kent-based corporation this week issued a recall of peanut products that were potentially contaminated during the current scare involving peanuts.

The recalled products have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.

Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.

Roasted Honey Peanuts, Virginia Roasted/Salted Peanuts, Virginia Roasted No Salt Peanuts, Roasted/Salted Peanuts and Roasted/Unsalted Peanuts were distributed to retail stores throughout Washington State, including Food Pavilions, Cost Cutters and Save on Foods under the brand name of Peanut Corporation of America.
