Voters can learn about the candidates running for the Kent City Council during a forum from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at the Kent Commons Community Center, 525 Fourth Ave. N.
The event will be hosted by the City of Kent’s Cultural Communities Board. Each candidate will provide brief introductory remarks and answer questions written by Cultural Community Board members.
The following candidates plan to attend:
• Incumbent Marli Larimer and challenger Todd Minor for Position No. 1.
• Hira Singh Bhullar for Position No. 3.
• Incumbent Bill Boyce and challenger Mizan Rahman for Position No. 5
• Awale Farah and Zandria Michaud for Position No. 7
Les Thomas, who is seeking re-election to Position No. 3, told forum organizers he could not make the event because of a conflict that evening as a member of the Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority Board, said Sara Franklin, vice chair of the Cultural Communities Board.

The Kent Black Action Commission will host a Kent City Council candidates forum from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at the Kent Commons Community Center.
