Sealfon, the District 13 staff officer for public affairs, previously was awarded the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Achievement Award, the Commandant’s Auxiliary Letter of Commendation, and Coast Guard Meritorious Team Commendation. He was also an Auxiliary Air instructor pilot.
The Auxiliary, established in 1939, is the uniformed volunteer component of the Coast Guard. Members are primarily responsible for recreational boating safety and supporting the Active Duty Coast Guard in operations not requiring law enforcement actions. Auxiliary members train to the same exacting standards as their active-duty counterparts.
Sealfon, a 23-year Kent resident, retired from Labcorp and was the technical director for the Kent laboratory. He is a member of the Kent American Legion Post 15, and Kent Communications Support Team. He is married to Carolyn Sealfon, and they reside on Kent’s East Hill.
