Kent Community Foundations is announcing that scholarship applications are now available on their website.
The Kent Community Foundation was founded in 1986 as an affiliate of the Kent Chamber of Commerce to support education and the cultural arts in the greater Kent area, including Covington. The Foundation serves as a vehicle for tax deductible contributions from businesses and individuals for arts, education and scholarships.
This year they are offering the following scholarships:
– Richard & Ina Balash Scholarship for a graduating high school senior who resides in the City of Covington who plans to participate in business or engineering training.
-Covington Chamber of Commerce Scholarship for a graduating high school senior living in the City of Covington.
– East Hill Community Organization for a graduating high school senior who plans to attend a two year or vocational-technical institute in the
state of Washington.
– Rob Osborne Scholarship for a graduating senior at Kent-Meridian High School involved in athletics with plans to attend a two or four year
college within the state of Washington.
– Wesley Soderberg Art Scholarship for a graduating high school senior who plans to attend a two or four year college and is majoring in art.
– Linda K. Ruby Scholarship for a graduating high school senior who plans to attend a four year college and is intending to pursue a
career in teaching. This scholarship is also open for winners to re-apply after they are in college.
-Friends of KM Scholarship for a graduating Kent-Meridian High School senior attending an accredited post-secondary institution and based on
financial need.
– Thunderbird Community Sports Foundation Scholarship for a graduating high school senior who plans to pursue sports related fields of study in college or university.
