The Kent Fire Department recognized several individuals at its annual awards ceremony earlier this month for their contributions in 2009 to the community and department.

Fire officials awarded four people a 2009 Outstanding Citizen Community Service Award for performing a successful CPR on Dec. 14 at Kent Municipal Court. The four included Anne Marie Tennison, a city of Kent domestic violence victim advocate; Bryan Reil, a Municipal Court security officer; Tami Perdue, Kent chief prosecutor; and Jeanne Snow, a Kent resident.

The department gave an Outstanding Citizen Community Service Award to Allan Barrie, Jim Aigner and Sam Sullivan for their contributions to the Kent Communications Support Team and Amateur Radio Operators Leadership Team.

Kent Police officer Kenneth Clay received the Fire Department Medal of Honor for saving the life of a resident during a fire last year.

Capt. Pat O’Hern and Capt. Randy Anderson were named winners of the 2009 Officer of the Year award.

Kent Huntington, a 1st Class firefighter and engineer, was chosen as the Firefighter of the Year.

Linda Reeff, an administrative staff worker, received the Employee of the Year award.
