SeaTac Deputy Mayor Tony Anderson will represent the city on the Kent Fire Department Regional Fire Authority Governance Board.
Anderson’s position is non-voting and advisory, similar to that of Covington Mayor Margaret Harto, according to a Feb. 12 Kent Fire Department media release.
When the Kent Fire Department first formed as a Regional Fire Authority in 2010, it represented three main response areas: the city of Kent, the city of Covington and King County Fire District 37.
Each of those jurisdictions has one or more representatives on the governance board of the RFA. Because of the recent 20-year contract for services that started this year between the city of SeaTac and the Kent Fire Department RFA, a new seat has been added on the board.
