The Kent Fire Department will conduct fire training exercises from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 13-16 at 15328 S.E. 280th St., and 15406 S.E. 280th St.
Firefighters will use the donated structures for training and burn the buildings in a controlled manner. All harmful materials such as asbestoses, roofing materials, and carpeting are removed before burning.
The training allows firefighters to study fire behavior and different firefighting techniques.
Firefighters will try to minimize the impact of the training on the public. But fire officials recommend that residents near the structures close their windows and doors in case smoke travels to their property.
For questions or more information, call the fire department at 253-856-4330.
