A fire displaced two adults and killed a pet dog Saturday morning at a house in the 22900 block of 114th Way Southeast on Kent’s East Hill.
One of the residents of the home reported the fire at about 4:20 a.m. The two residents were able to get out of the house safely. The house was also home to six dogs and two cats. One of the dogs died in the fire, according to a Kent Fire Department Regional Fire Authority media release.
As fire crews approached the residence, smoke was visible from a distance. Emergency responders from Renton and King County Medic One, and Zone 3 Fire Rehab assisted Kent at the incident.
The fire was located on the upper floor of the split-level home. Firefighters were able to completely extinguish the fire in about 20 minutes and crews continued to work in order to ensure there were no more hot spots in the house.
Fire investigators have yet to determine the cause of the fire or a damage estimate.
