Glenn Phillips, a Kent Municipal Court judge, was elected president of the Washington State District and Municipal Court Judge’s Association at the association’s annual spring conference last week. Phillips will serve one year as president.
Members of the association also elected Robert McSeveney, a Kent Municipal Court judge, to serve a four-year term on the Washington State Judicial Conduct Commission.
“The Kent community should be proud of the accomplishments and recognition our judges have obtained statewide to garner the support and confidence of the DMCJA membership,” said Margaret Yetter, city court administrator, in a city media release. “The judges work hard and take their offices seriously. It doesn’t surprise me that the association placed their confidence and support in their leadership abilities.”
