Kent looking to hire Lake Meridian Park lifeguards

The city of Kent is taking applications for lifeguards to work this summer at Lake Meridian Park.

The city of Kent is taking applications for lifeguards to work this summer at Lake Meridian Park.

There are 15 regular lifeguard positions and two senior lifeguard spots open through the Parks, Recreation and Community Services department.

The application deadline is June 10. The jobs run from mid-June through Labor Day.

Pay for the senior lifeguard job is $12.05 to $14.55 per hour depending on experience. The regular lifeguard spots pay $10.05 to $12.55 per hour.

Applicants must have a current American Red Cross lifeguard training certificate, a standard first aid certificate and a professional rescuer certificate.

They also must be at least 16 years of age, have at least two years of beach lifeguarding experience; strong communication skills; demonstrate mature judgment and be in good physical condition. All lifeguards will be subject to a mandatory pre-employment drug testing.
