A 21-year-old Kent man died on May 12 as a result of a single vehicle crash along westbound State Route 18 in the Auburn/Black Diamond area.
Pau Nung died from multiple blunt force injuries, according to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office media report. Nung was a passenger in the vehicle.
The collision resulted in injuries to the driver and two other adult passengers in the vehicle, according to the Washington State Patrol.
An 18-year-old passenger and a 20-year-old passenger were transported to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center as a result of injuries suffered in the collision. First responders transported the driver, an 18-year-old Auburn man, to St. Anne Hospital in Burien.
The driver was arrested for investigation of vehicular homicide and reckless driving, according to the State Patrol.
The collision resulted because of speeding, according to the State Patrol. Nung was not wearing his seatbelt.
According to the state patrol, the vehicle was traveling westbound at about 11:50 p.m. May 12 on State Route 18 at a high rate of speed and attempted to exit to Auburn/Black Diamond, traveling too fast to navigate a curve. The vehicle left the roadway and rolled multiple times, ejecting the rear passenger and coming to rest near the on-ramp.
According to the State Patrol, Nung died at the scene, with the King County Medical Examiner transporting his body.
