A Kent man reportedly caused a bruise and left teeth marks in the shoulder of his girlfriend during a dispute at about 10:28 a.m. Dec. 1 at a house in the 25700 block of 143rd Avenue Southeast.
Officers responded to a call from a woman that her boyfriend had bit her and left their home in a car, according to the police report.
The woman told officers that she and her boyfriend had been having problems for some time. They were arguing and when she tried to get away from him, he allegedly bit her shoulder.
Officers looked at the woman’s shoulder and observed a bruise and teeth marks. She said a few days earlier her boyfriend had bit her lip, “like he was going to try to rip it off.”
The two have dated since 2011 and lived together for about six months.
Officers found the boyfriend at the home the day after the dispute. He told police he was sleeping when his girlfriend tried to wake him up and yelled at him for drinking all of the juice. He said they had a lot of verbal disputes.
The boyfriend denied hitting or biting his girlfriend and claimed she hit him in the head with her fist and he couldn’t remember anything after that.
Officers arrested the boyfriend for investigation of fourth-degree assault and took him to the city jail.
The girlfriend told police her boyfriend normally was nice but he had used methamphetamine in the past and she thinks that makes him have violent outbursts.
Vehicle prowl
Police arrested a woman for investigation of second-degree vehicle prowling after the owner of a van reportedly saw her inside his parked van at about 3:16 p.m. Dec. 2 in the 4800 block of Kent-Des Moines Road.
The man had walked up to his van when he saw a woman he didn’t know inside of it and a man standing outside the vehicle, according to the police report.
When the van owner started to talk to the man, the man became orally aggressive and claimed the van belonged to a friend. The van’s owner didn’t have his phone so he asked a passerby to call police.
The woman said her friend owned the van and she climbed through a broken window to try to find his phone number. The van was parked on blocks as the owner has been trying to repair it. The items missing from the van included a volt meter, cassette player and a socket set.
Police found a volt meter and cassette player inside the woman’s vehicle, which she admitted she had taken from the van.
Officers ran a record check on the man with the woman and arrested him for investigation of possession of methamphetamine and a warrant for failure to appear for a driving while license suspended.
Harassment
Officers arrested a man for investigation of second-degree assault, harassment and burglary after he allegedly broke down a neighbor’s door, threatened him with a knife, punched him and choked him.
The incident occurred at about 3:55 a.m. Dec. 3 at a home in the 800 block of Prospect Avenue North, a house with apartments on one floor, according to the police report.
About five officers entered the home after a report of a fight and a man with a knife. They found one man on a bed with a cut lip and a bump on his head. That man told police he had complained to the man in the next apartment because the man kept banging on his wall while he and his wife tried to sleep.
The man said he complained but then retreated to his room when the man came at him with a large kitchen knife. About 10 minutes later, the man who had the knife reportedly kicked down the neighbor’s door, hit the man and chocked him.
Police took the man who had the knife into custody. Witnesses said the man also had grabbed a baseball bat but didn’t use it to hit the man. The man said he had become upset and banged on the neighbor’s wall because he heard the couple arguing.
Malicious mischief
Police arrested a man for investigation of third-degree malicious mischief after he reportedly hit the car windows and broke a side mirror on a vehicle driven by the mother of his child at about 10:23 a.m. Dec. 4 in the 2000 block of Pacific Highway South.
The woman called 911 to report trouble with the father of her baby, according to the police report.
She was driving along Pacific Highway when she saw the man on foot. He reportedly climbed on to the running board and started to hit the vehicle’s windows which caused a side mirror to crack and come loose. She said he also threw rocks at the vehicle.
The man told officers he grabbed the vehicle’s door handle just to talk to the woman. He claimed the woman broke the mirror just to get him in trouble.
