Kent Mayor Dana Ralph donated blood for the first time as she participated in Washington and Oregon Blood Donor Day on Dec. 18.
Ralph donated at the Bloodworks Northwest pop-up center at the Kent Station shopping center.
Bloodworks Northwest set up the donation day on the same date as three years ago when the Amtrak 501 train derailed near DuPont to help demonstrate the emergency need to have a blood supply ready.
