Kent Police arrested a man for investigation of indecent exposure, fourth-degree assault and harassment after he allegedly pulled down his pants in a Safeway store restroom and later fought with a store loss prevention officer.
The incident occurred at about 8:41 p.m. Dec. 10 at the Safeway store at 13101 S.E. Kent-Kangley Road, according to the police report.
Officers responded to a report of an assault in the store parking lot. The man had fled the scene on foot, but police found him next to the basketball court at the nearby Birch Creek Apartments. The man initially refused orders to get on the ground until an officer pulled out a Taser and threatened to use it.
A customer told a store loss prevention officer that a man in the store restroom was acting strangely and exposing himself.
The store officer found the man at the restroom sink with his pants down. He told the man he needed to pull his pants up and leave. The man reportedly threw a punch at the store officer.
The man declined to discuss the incident with police. Officers also found a bullet on the man. When they asked him if he had ditched a gun somewhere, he refused to answer.
Malicious mischief
Officers arrested a man for investigation of third-degree malicious mischief after he reportedly used his shoulder to bust down the door to a home occupied by his estranged wife and her boyfriend.
Officers responded to a domestic dispute at about 11:24 p.m. Dec. 10 in the 23700 block of 51st Place South, according to the police report.
The husband had knocked on the door but didn’t get an answer so he used his shoulder to break the door open. The boyfriend had used his body to try to block the door.
When the husband entered the home he told his wife to “get this man out of my house.” The couple separated about six months ago.
The husband had left the house by the time officers arrived. Three officers then went to a SeaTac home to find the husband. He admitted he had damaged the door after arguing on the phone with his wife. He said he was mad because she had another man in their house.
Wire theft
Police arrested two men for investigation of third-degree theft after they allegedly took copper wire from a power box at about 9:10 a.m. Dec. 8 near the intersection of 76th Avenue South and South 212th Street.
A passerby called 911 after he saw two men who appeared to be removing wire from a box, according to the police report.
Officers found two men who fit the description walking near the intersection. They found copper wire in the backpacks of each man. One man also had two wire cutters.
The men had left freshly cut wire at the nearby power box because they said they got spooked and decided to walk away.
Both men admitted to stealing and selling copper wire to help support their meth habits.
Harassment
Officers arrested a man for harassment after he threatened to kill his sister-in-law and chased her into a kitchen at about 8:39 a.m. Dec. 10 at an apartment in the 2700 block of South 256th Place.
Officers had been at the same address about an hour earlier because the man was heavily intoxicated and yelling, according to the police report.
The woman called police because when she told the man to stop drinking, he started to yell at her and chased her toward the kitchen. He stopped at the edge of the kitchen by a child gate because he was too intoxicated to go over it.
Police also discovered the man was an illegal immigrant who had previously been deported for a narcotics violation. The man didn’t talk to officers about the incident.
