A sampling of Kent Police incidents from Oct. 12-25:

Oct. 12

Suspicious vehicle: 8:05 a.m., officers responded to an anonymous caller reporting a suspicious vehicle circling the neighborhood and causing an alarm to go off on a parked vehicle. Police arrived in the area and saw the suspicious vehicle attempting to leave. Officers stopped the vehicle with dealer plates and contacted the occupants. The steering column was covered by clothing and it was ultimately discovered that the vehicle was reported stolen out of Seattle. The driver was arrested for possession of stolen vehicle and possession of meth. He was booked into the RJC.

Oct. 16

Pursuit: 12:38 a.m., Auburn Police responded to a car theft in which the suspect stole the vehicle and was headed north to Kent. During the event, a witness that was following the suspect reported being shot at by the suspect. Kent patrol saw the vehicle at Willis Street/West Valley Highway and a pursuit was initiated. After reckless driving, hitting curbs and guardrails, the vehicle came to a stop and the driver fled on foot into the woods. Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority was asked to provide a handheld tool (FLIR) to detect heat in the woods. The suspect was located hiding. He was a felon with warrants and had a gun in the vehicle.

Oct. 18

Child neglect; drugs: 3:33 a.m., officers conducted a welfare check on a Ford Explorer at the Shell gas station at 22588 84th Ave. S. They found two adults passed out in the front seats surrounded by drug paraphernalia. There was a 3-year-old child in the back seat, and she was without pants. Based on their investigation, they arrested the mother for child neglect and took her daughter into protective custody. The mother’s boyfriend was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia. A search warrant was written and served on the Explorer. Methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine and suspected fentanyl was recovered.

Robbery: 10:32 p.m., officers responded to an armed robbery at the 7-Eleven store at South 189th Street and West Valley Highway. White male suspect entered the store, showed the gun to the clerk and demanded the money. He received about $500 and walked out of the store. There have been similar robberies in Renton and Tukwila.

Oct. 25

Shooting: 12:06 a.m., patrol was dispatched to a shooting at a home in the 25200 block of 129th Place Southeast. According to the caller, his girlfriend was shot in the abdomen by a male subject that fled on foot from the residence. Additionally, a second subject was involved, but fled from the scene in a vehicle. A perimeter was immediately set. Contact was made with the victim inside the residence. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, with non-life-threatening injuries. A K9 track ensued, and with the assistance of a Washington State Patrol airplane, the 17-year-old suspect was located a short time later. The suspect was positively identified and confessed to his involvement in the shooting over drugs. The involved firearm was also recovered.
