Kent Police Blotter: Oct. 7-22

A sampling of Kent Police incidents from Oct. 7-22:

Oct. 7

• Commercial burglary: 11:49 a.m., patrol responded to Mastec, 5800 S. 196th St., for an overnight burglary. The suspects cut a lock on the gate to gain entry. Once inside, they stole $5,000 worth of supplies. The victim later found items matching the stolen goods for sale online in Tacoma.

Oct. 8

• Saars robbery: 5:45 p.m., patrol responded regarding a robbery to Saars Super Saver, 25900 104th Ave. SE. The suspect took several bottles of juice and left without paying. When an employee confronted the suspect outside, the suspect displayed a handgun, leading the employee to retreat.

Oct. 10

• Drugs found: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle, locating over 100 grams of fentanyl powder and 10 grams of pills. The driver was booked into King County jail, and the case was filed.

• Warrant arrest: An officer was notified of a felony warrant subject from Auburn Police. Officers safely arrested the subject without incident using multiple resources, including K-9 and SWAT. The warrant was for $100,000 on a felony charge.

• Red Lion robbery: 2:11 a.m., patrol responded to the Red Lion, 25100 74th Ave. S., for a robbery. The victim had agreed to meet the suspect at the hotel. After entering the room, the suspect went into the restroom and returned with a pistol, demanding money, and a phone. The suspect fled, and the victim’s belongings were later found in a dumpster in Renton.

Oct. 12

• Dog attack: Officers responded to a skate park regarding a dog attack. Officers used a Taser on one dog, which fled and had to shoot the other to prevent further injuries. The victim was treated and transported.

• Apartment robbery: 12:29 p.m., officers responded to reports of a suspect breaking into an apartment, taking a phone, and fleeing. A juvenile chased the suspect, but a K-9 track was unsuccessful in locating the individual.

Oct. 13

• Gun discharged: Officers responded to 11618 SE 252nd Pl., for a report involving a firearm. The suspect accidentally discharged a gun while cleaning it. Officers executed a search warrant and recovered multiple firearms. The suspect was arrested.

Oct. 14

• Grocery store theft: 10:47 p.m., patrol responded to a theft at Mexicana La Bendición, 400 Central Ave. S. Two suspects entered the store, one distracting the employee while the other accessed a restricted area and stole approximately $19,000 in cash used to purchase money orders.

• PSE burglary: 11:56 p.m., patrol responded to a burglary at PSE, 6900 S. 228th St. Upon arrival, patrol detained the suspect, who had cut a hole in the fence to gain entry. The suspect was in the process of stealing generators and parts from the business.

• Shots fired: 12:24 a.m., officers responded to Midtown 64 Apartments, 24615 64th Ave. S., for reports of a suspect discharging a firearm. The suspect was detained, and a handgun was recovered. The suspect was arrested for DUI and reckless endangerment.

Oct. 15

• Cupcake robbery: 8:30 p.m., patrol responded to a robbery at Safeway, 13100 SE Kent Kangley Road. The suspects caught stealing cupcakes, armed themselves with a handgun, and fled in a vehicle.

Oct. 16

• Drive-by shooting: 2:03 a.m., patrol responded to a drive-by incident around 13200 SE 278th St. Several shell casings were found on the road, and one impact was found on the victim’s vehicle.

• Shots fired: 10:34 p.m., officers were dispatched to 10526 SE 237th St., regarding firearm discharge reports. Officers found 18 shell casings and three live rounds near the residence. The occupants were unharmed, and the suspect fled the area.

Oct. 17

• Shots from vehicle: 6:31 a.m., patrol responded to a report of a person discharging a firearm from a vehicle. The vehicle, matching the description of a prior incident, was located, and found to have fraudulent tags. Officers discovered a shotgun inside and arrested the suspect.

Oct. 18

• Kidnapping: 3:14 p.m., patrol responded to a potential kidnapping around 20800 108th Ave. SE. The suspects fled in a vehicle but were later apprehended. The victim, known to the suspects, was unharmed.

Oct. 19

• Car crash: 12:49 a.m., officers were dispatched to a single-vehicle collision at 100 Kennebeck Ave. S. The driver, who appeared intoxicated, was uninjured, while the passenger sustained significant injuries and was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Oct. 22

• Cash robbery: A victim withdrew $3,000 from the bank and was robbed of $2,500 in the parking lot of Red Lion Inn & Suites, 25100 74th Ave. S.. The suspect likely followed the victim from the bank.
