Kent Police responded to a drive-by shooting last Thursday afternoon along Southeast 256th Street, behind the Washington Park Apartments on the East Hill.
A 21-year-old man told officers he and a friend were walking east on 256th Street when they heard shots being fired, so they turned and ran into the apartment complex to get away, but a bullet struck the man in the foot.
The man suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to police spokesman Jarod Kasner. The shooting occurred at about 4:52 p.m. Police didn’t release any other information about the shooting, which remains under investigation.
