At least 10 shots were fired at a Tukwila man during a drive-by shooting late Thursday afternoon in Kent, according to Kent Police.
Paramedics transported the 20-year-old man to a local hospital with an injury that wasn’t life-threatening, police spokesman Jarod Kasner said. The shooting occurred at about 4:30 p.m. in the 6700 block of South 228th Street, just west of West Valley Highway near the REI headquarters.
Police continue to search for a suspect and the suspect vehicle. Police have not released any information about the suspect or the vehicle.
“I can tell you that there were witnesses to the incident,” Kasner said in a Friday email. “There were no other reported injuries but there was damage to property. There were at least 10 rounds fired.”
Kasner didn’t reply in an email as to whether the shooting might be gang related or whether the victim is cooperating with police. The Tukwila man was driving his car when another vehicle pulled up alongside of him and gunshots were fired at the man.
“We are investigating all possible contributing factors as we continue to interview witnesses and go over evidence that was collected,” Kasner said.
