Kent patrol units responded to the Kent-Des Moines Park & Ride in the 23400 block of Military Road South. They found a lone vehicle that contained the dead woman.

Detectives are working to clarify the circumstances that led to the death, as well as a motive for the fatal assault. Detectives spent multiple hours at the scene conducting the initial investigation. The suspect, 41, remains in custody.

“This appears to be a tragic incident of domestic violence, and there is no reason to believe that additional family members or the community at large are at risk,” Kent detective Tim Ford said.
