Kent Police investigating car show shooting with 12 injured and no suspect in custody | Update

A shooting at a car show on the West Hill of Kent Saturday afternoon left 12 injured and no suspect is in custody at this time. Kent Police officers arrived 23311 Pacific Hwy S at 4:15 p.m. to find a large crowd with eight victims. According to Sgt. Jarod Kasner seven were transported to area hospitals and one declined aid.

Kent Police officers arrived  23311 Pacific Hwy S at 4:15 p.m. to find a large crowd with eight victims. According to Sgt. Jarod Kasner seven were transported to area hospitals and one declined aid.

Four more showed up at hospitals later.

According to Kasner, officers discovered there had been an argument and a fight at the low-rider car show.  A verbal confrontation started within the crowd and it turned into a physical fight. Eventually shots were fired.

Kasner said the officers have 12 victims and many more witnesses to interviews.

“Right now we are working all the angels,” Kasner said. “There still is no suspect in custody.”

Kent Detectives are interested in speaking to anyone that may have attended the car show, taken photos during the car show and/or may have knowledge of the events that led to the shooting. Persons with information should call the Kent Police Department Tip Line at 253-856-5808.

A second unrelated shooting accorded Sunday morning a popular nightclub at the Muckleshoot Casino.

A Covington man fired shots into a crowd seriously injuring two victims and wounding five others, Auburn police reported.

The shooting suspect, a 42-year-old man, was arrested and booked Sunday into the King County Jail for investigation of attempted homicide for shooting his estranged wife, her male dance partner and her sister at Club Galaxy, according to Auburn police. The man’s initial court appearance could be Monday.

Police say the shooting is believed to have stemmed from a domestic violence situation between the suspect and his wife. The suspect entered the club, and after discovering the woman was with another man on the dance floor, shot both of them with a handgun.
