Extra police officers were called to help break up a fight among several Lingerie Football League fans after one man reportedly yelled a racial slur at another man during the Oct. 8 game at the ShoWare Center in Kent.

Kent Police officers on duty at the women’s game between the Seattle Mist and the Chicago Bliss asked for additional units at about 10 p.m. Oct. 8 because of problems with “intoxicated subjects and fights,” according to the police report. The game started at about 9 p.m.

Officers were walking one man out of section 206 when another man came running down the stairs to push his way toward police, according to the report.

When officers grabbed the man coming toward them, he continued to struggle until police pulled him to the ground. Officers escorted the man in handcuffs out of the building to a patrol car.

After police talked to the two men outside the arena, the officers determined they were not the men who started the initial disturbance.

Police released both men to friends who were sober and agreed to take the men home from the arena.

The officers did not write down information about the ages or names of the two men after a check with police dispatch showed both men had no criminal records.

Police did not make any arrests.

Officers filed a report for information purposes only and closed the case.

The fight allegedly started when a man was called a racial slur and responded by pushing another man, according to the report. The officers did not locate either one of those men.

The ShoWare Center is the home field for the Seattle Mist. The league features scantily-clad women playing seven-on-seven tackle football. This marked the second and final home game of the 2010-11 season.

Chicago beat Seattle 41-12. The Mist lost in August to the Los Angeles Temptation. This is the second season the Mist has played home games in Kent. Seattle plays road games Oct. 22 at the San Diego Seduction and Jan. 21 at the Dallas Desire.
