Kent Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a man and woman wanted for questioning about an attempted home break-in Oct. 13 on the East Hill.
A home surveillance video captured the two as they tried to enter the home at about 3:21 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, according to an Oct. 20 Kent Police media release.
An alert homeowner hearing a disturbance at her rear door looked out to see the pair as the man tried to open a rear slider door. Once discovered, the pair fled the back yard.
Video shows the woman at the front door of the home, ringing the door bell and waiting for a response. When the door bell goes unanswered, the pair move to the back yard and the man tries to make entry through the door.
“The tactics used by these burglars are not new nor sophisticated,” said Kent Police Lt. Pat Lowery. “However, they highlight the need for homeowners to stay alert to what is happening around their home and their neighborhood.”
Kent Police remind all residents to remain vigilant to unfamiliar persons or vehicles in their neighborhoods, and to call 911 anytime something seems unusual or suspicious.
