Kent Police Detectives are investigating a home invasion robbery that occurred on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28, at the Kent Summit Apartments.
Officers were dispatched around 10:50 a.m. to the complex in response to a possible home invasion. The victims reported that an unknown male forced his way into their condo unit, armed with a blue semi-automatic firearm. The man pointed the firearm at both victims, police reported.
The victims described the suspect as speaking in a different language. The subject then fled from the residence, possibly on foot. Nothing was stolen, police reported.
The subject is described as wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, being 5-foot-10 to 5-foot-11, with a medium build, and was described as being light in complexion, possibly an Asian, Hispanic or black male.
“With the information we have gathered, we believe that the victims in this case were not the intended targets, but more likely than not the subject targeted the wrong residence” said Kent Det. Melanie Frazier.
Investigators have exhausted efforts in identifying the suspect, and are now asking for the public’s help. Police are asking that anyone with information regarding this incident or any similar case to call the Kent Police Department tip line at 253-856-5808.
