The Kent Police Department invites the public to a community meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, at the Kent Police/Fire Training Center, 24523 116th Ave. SE.
The meeting’s focus is to bring police leadership and community members together to address crime concerns and introduce resources police can provide residents to make neighborhoods safer.
Kent Police Chief Ken Thomas, command staff and other police department personnel will be on hand to talk about crime trends, prevention and programs. Police also will give a special presentation with a firearms training simulator.
A cornerstone of the Kent Police strategy for creating safe communities is Intelligence Led Policing. The practice uses real-time crime intelligence, sharing information with partners, pro-active problem solving and community partnerships to address the issues of crime while improving the quality of life.
The Kent Police Department hosts four community meetings each year, rotating them through various neighborhoods of the city.
