The Kent Predators have announced their 2010 schedule for the professional Indoor Football League.
The expansion team opens the season with road games Feb. 28 at the Billings (Mont.) Outlaws and March 8 at the Alaska Wild in Anchorage. Billings won the IFL title last summer.
Kent makes its home debut March 12 against the Fairbanks Grizzlies at the ShoWare Center. Kent is an expansion team in the 26-team league that started last spring with 19 teams. The games feature eight-on-eight football.
The Predators play the Tri-Cities Fever four times and play Billings, Alaska and Fairbanks three times apiece as part of their 14-game schedule. Kent also plays a road game April 24 at the Chicago Slaughter.
The Predators end the regular season on the road with a trip to Alaska for games June 12 against the Grizzlies and June 19 against the Wild.
“To begin the season on the road against the defending champs will be a huge test for our football team,” said Chris Kokalis, president and co-owner of the Predators in a media release. “We have some strong teams in our conference which should mean for some competitive matchups for our fans inside the ShoWare Center. Playing Tri Cities four times should create an instant fan rivalry.”
The Friday and Saturday night home games at the ShoWare Center will start at 7:30 p.m. with Sunday games beginning at 3 p.m. All game times are subject to change.
The Predators expect to release the team’s individual game and group pricing tickets later this month. Season tickets are currently on sale at www.kentpredators.com.
