The Washington State Patrol this past month visited the Kent School District’s transportation Department for its annual, unannounced inspection.
One quarter of the KSD bus fleet was randomly inspected, all of which received a 100 percent rating on this safety inspection.
Every district in the state receives a surprise inspection every year from the state.
The average bus in the Kent School District travels 15,000 miles per year.
“The WSP report is evidence of the outstanding work by our transportation mechanics, and the department as a whole, to ensure student safety on a daily basis,” Superintendent Dr. Edward Lee Vargas said.
