The Kent School District will host a series of town hall meetings to discuss technology use in schools.
The town halls are set for Monday, April 24, at Carriage Crest Elementary, 18235 140th Ave. SE, Renton; Tuesday, April 25, at Kent Elementary, 24700 64th Ave. S.; and Thursday, April 27, at Meridian Middle School, 23480 120th Ave. SE, Kent.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with the meetings from 6 to 8 p.m. in the school’s cafeteria or library. There will be supervised children’s activities.
The meetings are a follow-up to a Tech Summit the district facilitated on March 18. At the summit, parents, students, teachers, staff and community members worked in small groups to create sketches and scripts of what the day in the life of of 21st century student in the Kent School District would look like.
That information has been posted to the district’s website and will be presented at the town hall meetings for feedback.
The top sketches and skits will be incorporated into a short video, which will be produced later this year and help create a road map of how technology should be used in schools.
