The Kent School District has scheduled a meeting May 22 for parents of children who receive special education services.

The meeting is slated for 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Mill Creek Middle School Project Room, 620 N. Central Ave., Kent.

The district is undergoing an independent review of its programs and services in special education. The parent forum will allow parents to share their experiences and feedback.

During the forum, review consultants will meet with parents to hear what they think is going well and how they think the program could be improved.

“The success and well-being of our students is our top priority. We welcome any feedback from our parent community to help ensure that we are doing all we can to meet the individual needs of our students,” said Kim Halley, executive director of Inclusive Education Services at KSD.

Light refreshments will be served. Child care will not be provided. There will be two sessions – one in English, another in Spanish.
