Kent Phoenix Academy graduate Amanda James poses with Kent School Board President Jim Berrios

Editor’s note: Check back with the Kent Reporter Saturday night to see the Kent-Meridian and Kentridge Class of 2009 graduation ceremonies!

The Kent Phoenix Academy’s Class of 2009 had its graduation ceremony June 11, at the Kent-based academy’s gymnasium.

It was an exciting time for students as well as their families, as all came together to celebrate their achievements and to collect their diplomas.

Following the ceremony, which included speeches from various guest speakers, including outgoing Superintendent Barbara Grohe, who is seeing her final graduating classes this month and retiring at the end of the school year, the graduates and their guests relaxed at a specially organized reception.

Let’s give a big hand to the students at the academy, for working hard and taking their next big step into the adult world.
