In response to cold weather conditions, Kent’s severe weather shelter will open tonight and Saturday and Sunday evenings at Kent Lutheran Church, 336 2nd Ave. S.
Operated by Catholic Community Services staff and volunteers from Kent Lutheran Church, the shelter will open each night at 9 for check-in and registration and close at 7 each morning.
Priority is given to homeless families with children living on the streets or in vehicles, but the shelter also be available for single women and men. As with all shelters, rules for the health and safety of all clients and staff and the broader community will apply.
