The Prescription Drug Take Back Day by the Kent Police brought in 290 pounds of medications.
People dropped off their old prescription drugs and over-the-counter medicines April 27 at the police station.
The event was part of the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, a nationwide effort spearheaded by the Drug Enforcement Administration and local authorities. The goal of the program is to provide a safe and secure environment for community members to turn in unused, expired, or otherwise unneeded medications.
