Michelle Raeck, a special-education teacher from Daniel Elementary School, received $1,000 worth of classroom supplies earlier this month during a surprise visit from Office Max staff during an assembly at her school. The Office Max program called “A Day Made Better” is a national cause celebrating teachers for their efforts in the classroom. Raeck was nominated by one of the school’s administrators, Tracy Magee.
“Ms. Raeck is a more than a colleague — she is a friend,” Magee wrote of her colleague. “She gives her time willingly to all of our students and staff and is a fierce advocate for the students she works with at Daniel. Ms. Raeck has a ‘can do’ attitude and always wears a smile! I am proud to recognize Michelle Raeck for her dedication and contributions to our Daniel community and wish to thank Office Max for helping provide this recognition opportunity.
Excerpts from students who have her as a teacher:
“Ms. Raeck is a good listener.”
“You help me a lot on reading. You always make me happy. You are a nice teacher.”
“One time when I was taking a test you told me that I was doing a great job and to keep it up.”
“ Ms. Raeck — You have been helpful with a lot of stuff like reading, math and writing. When I have no clue what to do you help me.”
“You always brighten my day.”
