The Kent Police Department, in partnership with the federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), is once again participating in a nationwide prescription and over-the-counter drug take back day.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27, outside of the Kent Police Department, 232 Fourth Ave. S.
Kent Police will collect controlled, non-controlled and over the counter substances, all solid dosage pharmaceutical products and liquids in consumer containers. Liquid products, such as cough syrup, should remain sealed in original container.
If medicine is brought in an original container, remove any identifying information by removing label or use permanent marker. Police will not collect intravenous solutions, injectables, syringes or medical waste; illicit substances such as marijuana or methamphetamines.
