A Kent woman was shot several times Saturday night and was transported to Harborview Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
A release from the Kent Police Department stated officers were dispatched at about 11 p.m. to the parking lot of the American Legion Hall at 25405 97th Pl. S. The officers found the woman with several gunshot wounds.
According to the police department release, the hall was rented out for a birthday party. An investigation indicated a dispute may have occurred between some at the party, which precipitated the shooting. The police department believes gunfire was exchanged.
“Kent police detectives are currently following up on information provided by witnesses at the scene.” said Kent Detective Sergeant Bob Burwell. “We’re hopeful that somebody who witnessed the shooting will be able to identify the suspect.”
