Kent Police arrested a woman for investigation of disturbing the peace after neighbors complained about her yelling, screaming and slamming doors.
Officers responded to a complaint at about 12:16 a.m. Feb. 1 at a condominium complex in the 10100 block of Southeast 235th Place, according to the police report.
Police arrived at the complex and could hear the woman still yelling. She yelled and cursed about a neighbor as officers approached her door. The officers advised her to be quiet or she would be arrested for disturbing the peace.
The officers started to leave when the woman started to yell again. She used derogatory names to describe a neighbor woman. A friend of the neighbor tried to get the woman to quiet down, but the woman kept on yelling.
Police tried once more to get the woman to calm down before officers arrested her.
Drugs
Officers arrested a woman for investigation of drunk driving and possession of a muscle relaxer drug without a prescription after an incident at about 10:14 p.m. Feb. 1 near the 19000 block of the East Valley Highway.
An officer saw a vehicle drifting in and out of lanes while northbound on the East Valley Highway, according to the police report.
The driver then made a u-turn to head south on the East Valley Highway. The officer activated his lights and pulled the car over.
The woman driver reportedly had slurred speech as well as a dazed and confused look. She told police she only had one or two beers at a nearby bar and was heading home.
The officer had the woman perform a few field sobriety tests and she allegedly could not keep her balance. After police transported the woman to the city jail, they found a white prescription pill in her wallet. The woman had no prescription for the pill, suspected to be Methocarbamol, which is used as a muscle relaxer.
Assault
Police arrested a man for investigation of fourth-degree assault after he reportedly slapped his wife during a dispute at about 9:01 p.m. Feb. 2 at a home in the 27000 block of 35th Avenue South.
The husband answered the door when officers responded to the domestic violence call and he tried to slam the front door on the officers, who were able to keep the door open, according to the police report.
Two officers put handcuffs on the husband as they tried to figure out what happened. The wife told police they had been at a Super Bowl party in Seattle when her husband started to drink too much and began to get out of control. The wife drove him home.
The husband then became upset again and started to yell at his wife and slapped her. The wife had a cut on her head and marks on her arm, according to officers.
The husband refused to answer questions from police about the dispute.
Weapon
Officers arrested a man for investigation of failing to have a permit for his Colt 45 pistol after a traffic stop for reportedly speeding in a school zone at about 9:05 a.m. Feb. 4 near Meridian Elementary School and the intersection of 140th Avenue Southeast and Southeast 256th Street.
An officer used a laser speed measuring device to clock the driver at about 28 mph in the 20 mph school zone, according to the police report.
Police discovered the man had a suspended driver’s license from Idaho and a driving while license suspended citation in Washington. The officer decided to impound the car after the man couldn’t find anyone to come pick it up.
When police opened the trunk, an officer saw a large duffle bag. He asked the man if he had any weapons and he said he did. Police found a Colt 45 inside the bag loaded with eight rounds of ammunition. The man didn’t have a concealed weapons permit for the gun. The permit had expired in 1998.
