National Merit Scholar semifinalist and Kentridge High School senior Tracy Tran is one of only eight candidates in the world to earn every possible point on the Advanced Placement Calculus level AB exam.
She answered every multiple-choice question correctly and earned the maximum scores on each essay in the free-response section of the exam.
Senior Vice President Trevor Packer of the College Board said, “We applaud Tracy for her hours of hard work and her AP teacher for engaging students and enabling them to excel in a college-level course.
“This outstanding accomplishment is likely a direct reflection of the top quality education offered at Kentridge.” The College Board awards National Merit Scholarships.
“This exceptional accomplishment is not Tracy’s first and won’t be her last,” says Superintendent Dr. Edward Lee Vargas. “We’re all so very proud of her and know she will continue to do exceptional things in her life.”
Kent School District produced two National Merit Scholars in 2012-13.
