Kentridge’s fifth annual Dance for Heart raised $4,000 for the American Heart Association last Friday in the Kentridge High School Performing Arts Center.
The theme for the entertainment-filled charity show was “Beat It,” and many of the acts were set to Michael Jackson hits. The Sparkles cheer squad, which includes students in the special education program, donned zombie makeup to perform to the King of Pop’s “Thriller”, while Little Charger preschoolers danced to Jackson 5’s “ABC”. The whole cast took to the stage for the night’s final number, “Shake Your Body”.
Other acts included the Chatelaines dance team, the gymnastics team, the Yoga Club, Steppers and Ballers, and a variety of multicultural performances, such as Mexican Tap Folk, Filipino, Shaolin Kung Fu, Bollywood, Hula and Polynesian.
